Egypt - Beer

Here is another post related to Rosicrucian Egyptian Museum. Egypt's people got their drinking water from the river Nile. Nile carried a lot of waterborne diseases. To prevent them, the people drank beer instead of water!

In some shops/bars, the beers were served in a cylindrical goblet made of clay. This goblet had a pointed bottom. This was to ensure that the customer could not put the goblet down and hence had to gulp down the entire beer.  And once the beer got over, he would want more! Nice business trick eh? :)

Sahityamlo Hasyam

Every day when I open the youtube home page, the first thing that I search for is "Sahityamlo Hasyam" This is a Telugu program by Dr. Garikipati Narasimha Rao. It is about Telugu language and literature with a twist of humour. He recites a number of funny Telugu/Sanskrit poems and explains the meaning of those. It is very funny to watch. I love it. We are supposed to have one episode per week. However for the past one month, no new episodes have been uploaded to youtube by the Teluguone channel.

I replay most of the episodes. I know some of the poems by heart. I love watching them. I laugh at the same funny poems again and again. It does not bore me at all.

I am very happy that Aditya told us about Dr. Garikipati Narasimha Rao and this program. If we hadn't known, we would have missed all those evenings of fun. V and I sit and watch this program together. It feels nice to share similar interests. Lucky me! :)

Oh TeluguOne! When will you upload new episodes of Sahityamlo Hasyam???

Muscle Joke: Spiderman

We were wondering what would happen to Spiderman's powers in a desert or at the sea. He will not have any building or structure to stick his web to. And so he will not be powerful!!! What do you say?? :-)

Bun Certified Bava Programmer!

Only jokers from Mastimakerz can come up with a tag line like this!

We came across an old video of us taken during our trip to Nagarjuna Sagar. The video had Karthik looking at the camera and talking like a newsreader. He was teasing Spoo like this:
"She joined IMIS thinking it is IIMS. She is planning to do MBA from SBI. She knows a lot of programming languages like Bava 1.4, B, B++, B sharp, SQL, para SQL, MS home, FROG, RASCAL, Doors98. She has recently joined Macro Swift. She is Bun Certified Bava Professional!"

We could not help replaying the video several times and each time we laughed so hard that our tummies ached! Wish we could reverse the time and re-live those days again!

Even though the running commentary was Karthik's, this post has been dedicated to Spoo  because she is the one who always gives so many many chances for everyone to come up with new ways of pulling her leg!!! :-)

Muscle Joke: Gopal

This muscle joke is not from me. It's from V...

Q: Which state does Gopal belong to?
A: Liquid state!

I am not responsible for the effects of this joke!!! :-)

For readers who are not conversant with Indian languages, Gopal is a male name and one of the interpretations of the name is Cow's milk (Go means Cow, Pal means Milk)

Muscle Joke: Antakshari...

It's exercise time again! Here's another Muscle Joke...

While we were playing Antakshari at home, one of my friends sang the same song again. When we objected to it, he said, “This is the male version of the song!!!” And later, after a couple of rounds of the game, he sang the same song again. This time he explained, “It is not the same song. It is the remix version of the song!”

Happy Exercising! Hee Hee Hee!

Under the spell of Python!

During my childhood days, I considered Python to the best amongst all the snakes. First of all, it is an Indian snake.. too much of patriotism, is it? And second of all, it is a non-poisonous snake unlike cobra.. that makes it a little less scarier..! ;-) And third of all, even if the python swallows a human being, there is a possibility of slitting the snake open and saving the person...! Of course, there is every possibility that the snake would wind itself around a tree right after it swallows me, but still...! Weird thinking!

Now you must be still wondering who is under the spell of Python... It is well known that a snake can come under the spell of the snake charmer but not vice versa.. Here I have a person, who lives in a trance and eats, breathes and sleeps Python! Not the reptile but the language! My hubby has gone so much into this Python programming language that last night he was blabbering about it in his sleep. "main...", "semicolon...","no curly braces...".. blah.. blah.. blah.. Even when I woke him up to ask him what he wanted to have along with Khichdi, he blabbered "blah blah.. curd..blah.. blah" using his Python syntax!

God knows when he will get out of the trance. Wish I could break the spell, but I am no witch!!! :)

Wondering what this picture has to do with Python. Well, nothing at all! This is a photo taken during the recent Fremont Fair. The spiraling things reminded me of snakes and hence it's a part of this post! :)

Car-ride with Karthik!

Car-ride with Karthik has always been a fun-ride... His funny comments and stories make me roll onto the floor clutching my tummy and laughing... His presence is like laughing gas...

In Karthik's own words: "Karthik's laugh and Yawning are contagious!!!"

Here are some of the rib tickling comments that he passes while driving:
  • (To a pedestrian crossing the road): He is simply moon-walking, man!
  • (To the vehicle-driver in front of his car, that is going at a snail's pace, even though all other vehicles are going fast): Nidhra mabbu lo nadipisthunnaadu! (loosely translated: He is driving in his sleep)
  • (To a pedestrian crossing the road): Kallu mooskoni cross chesthunnadu (He is crossing with his eyes tightly shut)
  • (To another pedestrian crossing the road): oorike itu nundi atu walking chesthunnaadu! (loosely translated as: He is on his morning walk and walking from this side of the road to that side!)
  • (To another pedestrian who crossed the road in a hurry right in front of Karthik's car): Did you find only my car to commit suicide!!! :P
It's a pleasure to sit in his car while he drives and entertains us!!! May be that's why his name has the word Car (KARthik) in it!!! ha ha ha :D

Needless to say, this post has been completely dedicated to the funny driver.. Oops.. I mean.. to our dear Karthik! :D

Muscle Joke: English

A Suppandi bumped into an American. The American started conversing with him in English and Suppandi did not understand anything. He said: "I no English.. I no English..." To which the American replied, "Oh! Good then..." and continued to converse in English.

'no' and 'know' are homophones... English is really weird! :)

This joke is from Babji mama... and it exercised around 9.5 muscles of my face! How about you? :D

Muscle Joke: Intro

What is a Muscle Joke?

It is a joke which causes minimum muscles on our face to move. When we smile a lot of muscles on our face get exercised. But with a muscle joke, only 1 or 2 muscles get moved!!! We can say, it is worse than a PJ(Poor Joke)

Our Mastimakerz were the ones to coin this term:'Muscle Joke' and most of our jokes belong to this category. From now on we will have muscles jokes on our blog to entertain/exercise the individual muscles of our readers!!! :)

To start with here's a muscle joke:

Husband: Aise beech main chod ke gaye to kaise???
Wife: Hyd mein beach kahan hai ji??? :)

The above joke is in Hindi and for readers who are not familiar with Hindi, let me explain. 'beech' in Hindi means 'middle'.

Husband: Aise beech main chod ke gaye to kaise??? (How can you leave me in the middle(beech) like this?)
Wife: Hyd mein beach kahan hai ji??? :) (Where do we have beach in Hyderabad?)

I know... The jokes are pathetic and are perfect to be buried... But I can't help publishing them! :D
