A Photo to cheer me up
It's been ages since I blogged and I thought while I take some more time off from blogging, I will keep everyone entertained with some photos taken during one of our several trips.
A photo a day, keeps the loneliness away (from this blog)! :)

Writing in Tamil
I found these sites related to Tamil scripts.
Ancient Scripts -> http://www.ancientscripts.com/tamil.html
Tamil Script Writing -> http://mylanguages.org/tamil_write.php
This one is awesome. Whatever we write in English, it transliterates it to Tamil. :)
Found them very useful while writing a letter to my Paati (Grandma) :)

Coyote Creek Trail
This board caught my eye on the first day to the office... I had to go there and have a glimpse of the creek... :)
To my delight, on a working day, right after I got out of office, we parked our car at the entrance and took the trail... Below is a picture of the entrance area...
It is a paved trail for hikers and bikers... Lined on either side by these dried grass..
Do these plants really belong to the grass family? I don't really know... But I love the sound of them rustling when the wind blows...

The view of these golden grass plants looks very beautiful even from the MacArthur Blvd.
We walked on the trail for about half an hour in either direction, but there was no creek in view. May be it gets dried up during this time of the year...

Seeing errors for database trigger
I know this is not one of my usual posts... This something about work... It's technical... I know.. I know.. But I cannot help it!
After ages, I was working on database triggers. I modified one and compiled it.
It said: "trigger created with compilation errors"
I typed: "show errors"
It said: "No errors".
How can that be? Now I knew that a trigger was sitting there in the database with errors and I needed to remove those errors. If I do not know what the errors are, how will I fix them?
I quick search in google, I find the answer... (Thank you Google!) USER_ERRORS table saves the error details of any database object that was created with errors. Here is the query:
select * from SYS.USER_ERRORS where NAME = and type =

Knitting
Those were the days when my mind was working overtime and I had to cheat my mind to concentrate on something. I tried sewing, embroidery, quilting, reading etc... nothing could keep my mind off my unwanted thoughts. I needed something that I liked to do and it had to be completely new that it needed my 100% concentration. What better thing than knitting! I had always wanted to learn to knit; I did not know how to knit and it would need my full concentration to master the technique.
I looked up my handicrafts books and hobby books at home... then tried a couple of youtube videos. I could not learn much. In fact V watched those videos and taught me how to cast on stitches onto the needle. But we hit a blank wall when we wanted to do knit and purl stitches. A quick trip to the library... and lo! I found the perfect CD that had the basic tutorial for knitting and it had a beginner's project as well: dishcloth. I do not remember the exact name of CD and name of the instructor. But she is the best! If I could learn then anyone can!
I made a dishcloth starting with 5 stitches cast onto the needles and kept increasing one stitch a row till I reached 50 and then decreased it back to 5 stitches one stitch per row. It was continuous knit or garter stitch as it is called in Knitting lingo (I think). Initially it took me a whole afternoon to do a dish cloth or may be longer.
I added a yoyo flower and embroidered a stem and leaves. Now I use this as a mug rug! :)
I love the way it turned out. I made another one for V. :)

Knotty Tidbits: 14
Title: Half Moon Bay
Sound of waves at a distance...
Warm sand under the bare feet...
Sun saving us from the chilly winds...
With a favorite novel in hand and my beloved by my side...
What more could I ask for? :)
It was a hazy and windy day at the beach.
Was I able to play in the water at the beach? No.
But did I miss it? Not at all! :)
